New Home Design: Part Two

Today we was home inspection day and it went perfectly. There are no major problems. Praise God.
So we are one step closer to closing day!

And so tonight I bring you Part Two of our new home design.

The Den
This is the den as it is now:

and this is what we will be doing:
Here is the color pallet and I will be finding some other colors to throw in the mix
We're keeping the wall color they have now

This is the rug we will be ordering from here

I believe that the focal point of the room is the fire place so we will be painting it the citrus green color from the pallet.

This is what we are thinking for the couch
and I will be looking, at thrift stores, for two non-matching chairs for the den.

I would really love for one to be a wing back chair shaped like this

I will probably reupholster them, but I have no idea what fabric yet. If anyone has any suggestions as to fabric for chairs, curtains and pillows I'll be open to them! The perfect fabric has to be out there somewhere.... right?

The more stuff we find for the den the more excited about it I get, but I am still most excited about our bedroom.

Only 43 days 'til closing!

Happy Tuesday.

New Home Design: Part One

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Monday!
I was thankful for the rainy day we had here because it brought the temp down about 20 degrees. I do not do hot weather so I have been miserable in the 106 temps we've been having the past week.

I spent most of my rainy day playing and reading to my little man. He is getting his 1 year molars and they are kicking his butt... During E's nap I started to mentally decorate our new house.

The room I am most excited about is the master bedroom. At the house we are in now our room is a boring solid white with grey bedding. I am so tired of zero color.
Here is the master bedroom in the new house:
and here is what we will be changing:
we will be making this headboard with this yellow fabric, instead of grey.

and we will be using this amazing fabric to make curtains.

we may be taking this chair from Ephraim's room and putting it where they have the chair, in the picture.
What do ya'll think about that?

I'm in love with these printables, and this one will probably be making an appearance somewhere in our room.
Soon I will be going thrift-ing/estate sale-ing/yard sale-ing/flea market-ing in search of a dresser {because our bedroom is not only colorless but basically furniture-less} a bedside table and something to put our tv on. I will be refinishing most, if not all, of what I find. I could not be more excited about having a garage to refinish furniture in. I am hoping to get good enough at it to where I can put pieces in my store. {don't forget if you use the coupon code blogreaders10 at checkout you will recieve 10% off!}

I know our bedroom should be the third room on our list of rooms to re-do when we move in but I am so excited about it I might make it the first room.

Coming soon:

Oh baby, oh baby

Baby Nichols is busy busy busy. It had a schedule for about two weeks where it would move at 9:30 am every morning! Too sweet! Stephan said "hey do you think it'll keep this same schedule once it's born?!" He's cute ha ha! Unfortunately I don't think that will be the case. It has already created a new schedule of moving whenever it feels like it, even if that means bothering me while I'm sleeping. You would think I'd be used to feeling this little baby move by now but it's still strange every time!

7 days til I find out what baby is!!
So ready to talk to it and be able to call it buy a name, instead of "It"
That's so impersonal!

Sunday night we had dinner with friends. They have a new baby and I had the pleasure of seeing his awesome nursery. It inspired me! So this week I went to the thrift store with my soon to be mother in law and sister in law in search of finding... anything that would get my creative juices flowing in the "making the perfect nursery" area.

And I found this!!
at the super saver thrift store- in Roebuck
and yes I know... Missing handles and not the prettiest thing anyone has ever seen. However, when I get done with the extreme makeover I plan on carry out on this piece it will be as good as new!  It's going to be the baby's changing table and then dresser when it grows up.
Stay tuned for the revile (but don't get too excited it probably wont be 'til after the wedding)
As of yesterday I only had plans for a baby girls nursery. I am in love with the plans I have for it but realized that it's a little unfair to the baby that I've been so excited about all these girl plans when I'm still not positive on what it is yet. So yesterday with the help of Stephan we came up with a pretty awesome boy nursery as well. I am now equally excited about both!

Before I go... Quick wedding update!
This week we started marriage counseling at church. I was nervous at first but now I am very excited about what all we are going to learn and how much we will grow!
50 days til the wedding!
That is less than two months AH I cant believe it!!
I cant wait to be married to Stephan!
