Friday Letters

Photobucket

Dear Friday, Thank you for coming quickly... although now that you're here I feel a little overwhelmed with the things I have left to do before we leave this afternoon.
Dear Blog, You are doing a really good job of distracting me from the things I need to do.
Dear Sky Valley, Georgia, When I saw that your low temps would be in the 50's this week, way up high at our cabin, I died. I am so glad to be away from temps like 108.
Dear Samson and Lyla, Please be kind to your dad while I am away. He doesn't take care of you 24/7 often and I'm not sure he's ready for it...
Dear Something Borrowed, I recorded you, I'm watching you, but you're kinda dumb.... so why can't I turn you off?
Dear Husband, I haven't spent seven days in a row away from you since we've been married and I am going to miss you! So so very much... I hope you have fun "batching" it while I'm away. Don't eat too may potato skins and frozen pizzas ;) And pleaseeeeee keep the floor swiffered, if nothing else! PS: I love you forever more than anything!
Dear Ephraim, You are the cutest thing I've ever seen

and I hear you awake in your crib so I am coming to get you!

Happy Friday Lovelies!

Friday Letters

Join the party! You know you want to ;)

Dear Ashley, Friday Letter has quickly become one of my favorite days of the week, and honestly I'm a little jealous that you came up with the idea and not me. Haha!
Dear E, I am so sorry you are not feeling good. Stupid upper respiratory infection they cant treat with medicine!! It hurts my heart when you are sick so pleaseeeee feel better soon. Thanks!
Dear Samson, You must have read my mind on Tuesday. The first thing I want to do when I get in at 9pm is clean up a big #2 mess out of your crate... NOT. I really need you to stop eating grass when we let you out to do your business. It gives your worms and that means less money in our bank account. I need you to be healthy so we can stud you and make bank.... I mean after all that's why I bought you.
Dear Lyla, I'm glad you're the good dog of the family!
Dear E part 2, You walked yesterday.... 15 steps to be exact. Secret is out.... So you might as well just make it an every day occurrence.
Dear Husband, I can not wait for our family fathers day breakfast tomorrow. I can already smell the pancakes! I'm also pretty darn excited about our adventures once we finish breakfast, but that's mostly our little secret for now. PS: I love you!
Dear lovely wonderful blog readers friends, You guys are seriously the best. Thank you for all your sweet comments, and for sticking with me and reading my posts, even when I talk about things like financial small groups and what not. There will be more exciting posts to come. I promise!

Happy Friday y'all!

Happy Memorial Day Lovelies

Hello lovely readers, I hope y'all had a wonderful memorial day. My day was filled with cooking, cleaning, crafting and a seafood dinner with family. How did you spend your day?

Have you ever tried to write a post with a Great Dane in your lap?!
{He's 64 lbs now}
It's complicated...

A few days ago I realized I have never done a "getting to know me post." With new readers I think it is time for you all to get to know me a little better.
I'm Rachel.
I am 23, southern born and raised, currently living in Alabama. I am married to my best friend and the love of my life, Stephan. We've been together 6 years and married for 1.5 of those years. I have a funny, giggly, all together awesome 1.5 year old. He will melt your heart and be your best friend. Lyla is our 3 year old long haired Chihuahua and Samson is our .5 year old Merle Great Dane, we love our fur babies. I have terrible baby fever! I went to college for 2 years but never got any type of degree. The only class I excelled in was English, hence why I blog. I am happy to call Church of the Highlands my home. I love Jesus, plain and simple. I am loving all the precious people I am meeting in the blogging world. I love crafting and cooking, which is obvious in previous posts. I have a lot of ideas, hopes and dreams but sometimes I have trouble making them happen. I am working on that and this blog is helping me. I am very thankful for all my readers!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Today has been fun, so far. E and I took little Lyla on a walk. She made it half a mile (which with her little legs and my power walking was more like two miles, for her.) then she hitched a ride with E.
He is telling her all about the basket ball he saw in someones yard and just about came out of his stroller for. We will have to take the monster Samson for a walk later. It's just too much to handle all three of them at one time. In case anyone was wondering... Samson is a whopping 50lbs and just turned five months old.
I just love it when his ears do this. It makes him so much cuter haha.
Earlier in the week I promised today would be my first Fill in the Blank Friday. You can link up here to join in on the fun!
1.) My bedtime routine includes: Putting Ephraim to bed, watching a tv show or two with the hubs, getting in bed and doing one or all of the following: having a convo with the hubs about our day, watching something on hulu, and/or checking facebook, twitter, instagram etc. for the last time of the night.

2.) I am: really having a hard time finishing this post today. I have literally been staring at the screen for about an hour. Sad. I am also really excited about this post. Weird.

3.) I can't stand: when people come to complete stop in a merge lane  because  it is a MERGE lane not a stop sign, You have a WHOLE lane!!! You are going to end up getting rear-ended. End rant.

4. My idea of relaxation would be: A weekend a week away with my hubby. Some where tropical. Who wants to make this happen for us?!

5. If I had an extra $50, I would: Probably think about using it on something nice for myself, since I have three shirt, a pair of jeans and a dress I rotate between right now, but then end up spending it on E or Stephan. It seems to always happen that way...

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is: They are all so very nice and encouraging. Everyone should be like that. :)

7.  A recipe I've been dying to try is: I can't say there is one I have been DYING to try, but this one is on my to make soon list!
I hope you all have a very lovely weekend!

Two Posts In One Day... Holy Moly

Today while putting Ephraim in church nursery, I met a sweet lady who said she started reading my blog. I was extremely flattered and then realized how much I have been neglecting the blog. I apologized and told her I would post soon, so hopefully she reads the two I'm posting today.

For mine and Ephraim's birthday, we got a new puppy.
Meet Samson:
(Samson at 7 weeks and 12.5lbs)

(Samson at 11 weeks and 30lbs)

Such a huge difference I cant even believe it. Some day's I feel like while I'm at work he grows 3 inches.
He is so clumsy. It took him 2 weeks to figure out we have a glass door in front of our front door. Silly puppy.

Samson and Lyla (Get it?) get along pretty well. Lyla thinks she is bigger than him even though he is 5X her size.
Ephraim is not so sure of him yet. I think he is a little nervous about how big he is, only because he is big and very playful. Ephraim does really like using Samson as a step stool though.
We are really looking forward to pretty days ahead so we can take the whole family to the park to play.
