Steel City Pops

All our friends have been raving about this new little shop in town, called Steel City Pops.
What do they sell?.....
Popsicles!
How fun is that?
They have the most unusual amazing flavors like:
Jalapeno Pineapple
Blood Orange
Strawberry Balsamic
Sweet Tea
and
Avocado
just to name a few.
Today, Stephan decided we would check it out. He told me I was a nerd for standing out front while taking this picture.

I told him to shut up it was for my blog! They have such a cute little space in Homewood. I was in love the second I saw the store front.
When got there we could barley get in the door. I'd say they are doing pretty well for a new business!
The inside is pretty simple, but I really love the mural of Vulcan holding a pop.
It was so hard to pick a flavor, but I ended up going with the strawberry balsamic and Stephan picked raspberry lemon.
We took ours to go because there was no room to sit, barely room to stand.
The second I unwrapped mine the smell of balsamic was so strong that I got a little scared. However, I was sold after the first bite. The flavor combination is perfect! I love that they use all natural ingredients and some organic ingredients as well. They also try to buy local grown ingredients as much as possible.
Stephan enjoyed his too!
I love little businesses like Steel City Pops. I am thankful Birmingham is expanding its culinary wings.
Stephan and I will be frequent visitors of Steel City! We have already talked about a trip back next weekend. I will probably try honeydew or maybe cantaloupe.
If you're ever in the Birmingham area make Steel City Pops part of your to do list!

  1. This looks like such a cute shop! And the Jalapeno Pineapple sounds amazing! Outback used to do a Chipotle Pineapple Margarita that was my favorite!
